Zamburger Bliss Hotel Review: An affordable hotel in Johor Bahru

After V Hotel, the next budget hotel we stayed at was the Zamburger Bliss Hotel located a short distance away. The first thing you may notice is that the name sounds a lot like “hamburger” and the hotel sure makes the most of it as hotel lobby was full of hamburger plushies.

When we entered the lobby, I immediately found it warm and stuffy. The aircon didn’t seem to be on. My colleagues chose rooms facing the road while I picked a quiet corner room at the back. But this time, my room was on the third floor, and, like V Hotel, there was no elevator. So, I had to drag myself and my luggage all the way up to the third floor, sweating all the way. I had barely one foot through the door to my room when I turned the aircon on.

Then, once I cooled off a bit, I could finally take a look around my room. To my disappointment, the room was smaller than the one at V Hotel and the washroom was small cramped, even for me, and I’m not a big guy. But my biggest issue was the lack of a proper desk. There was only a table so short that you could only use it by sitting on the floor.

Sadly, I can only give this hotel two out of five stars. And I only added one star because of the nice bar restaurant next door that served good food and beer. So, will I come back to this $28 per night hotel? Maybe, if I have no other options.
