T & K Seafood

If you are looking for a reliable dining experience in Bangkok Chinatown, it is going to be T & K Seafood. Even when you are searching for a place to dine over the internet, it will suggest T&K as one of the options. It already has a long history known for its affordable seafood well visited by tourists.

Opening in the evening at about 5pm, T & K Seafood lies at the heart of Chinatown. You can never miss it with tables and chairs on the streets flooded by people eating there with a queue building up on the wait by the side of the street. We were told to wait for about 15 minutes to half an hour. Since we are already here, might as well just wait.

After a wait about 10 minutes, we were offered indoor seats with aircon. Well, that’s good for me especially I am a guy who is afraid of the heat. We were ushered to the 2nd floor with a table by the stairs. Don’t expect it to be well decorated (our home dining area might have looked much better) so long as it is tidy enough to dine, it is good for me.

They have a menu full of seafood and Chinese dishes. Since this is Chinatown, we tried the best of both worlds. We ordered a unique dish called Crab Meat with Glass Noodles in Crab Shell, Cold Oysters on the Half Shell, Tom Yum Seafood, Stir Fried Kang Kong, Crab Meat Instant Noodles and of course their popular BBQ Prawns.

The Crab Meat with Glass Noodles in Crab Shell might look not so appetizing on photo but the taste of it was awesome. It has a good balance of crab meat and glass noodle well blended into the crab shell. The Tom Yum Seafood was a bit spicy with a good potion of ingredients. Cold Oysters on the Half Shell were fresh and Stir-Fried Kang Kong was at acceptable standard. However, the Crab Meat Instant Noodles were on the oily side and tasted blend. Of course, no doubt on the taste of their affordable and delicious huge BBQ Prawns which wrapped up a perfect dinner for the day.

The best part of the day and meal came in the form of the Ice-Cold Bird’s Nest. It is my favourite desert in Chinatown. You don’t want to miss this as this is a must have.

Honestly, having tried T & K Seafood, I doubt that I will be visiting other restaurants because of its reasonable value and delicious servings.
