Saigon Cafe at Sheraton Hotel: Great Seafood Buffet at Ho Chi Minh City
When comes to buffet, everyone seems to be talking about how good Sheraton Hotel’s Saigon Café is, especially when it comes to their International Buffet.
Personally among my friends, I am known to enjoy buffets better than most. Despite being of small stature, I am able to eat quite a lot. In order to try for myself what the hype was about, I decided to make a trip down just to gauge for myself how good this place is.
It was an 8 minutes ride from the hotel I am staying at Cho Ben Thanh. The moment you alight the taxi, you will definitely experience what you should from a 1st class hotel like Sheraton.
It was 7pm and I could see how busy and packed the restaurant was. Sadly, the indoor seats were already taken up as priority goes to their own hotel guests. I can understand that so we were offered a table outside the restaurant.
The area of the restaurant is spacious and despite sitting outside, I was fine with it because I wanted to taste the food more than anything.
Honestly in my experience trying various kinds of buffets, not many buffet restaurants will give me a ‘Wow’ impression and this was something that would stay with me for a while. The food looked incredible and I saw various kinds of exotics meats for example frog, crocodile and the usual beef, lamb, chicken, fish and pork. To make things even better, you can even request the cook it the way you want it.
The variety of seafood was vast, food so fresh that it was straight the aquarium, and immediately freshly cooked for you. This restaurant is known for their varieties of sauces such as chili garlic, spicy black bean, tamarind and many others which go along with the crabs and seafood they served. It was simply mouth-watering. Along with a wide range of authentic local dishes, it also had a well stocked bar with all kinds of drinks which included wines and soft drinks.
