Meng Meng Roasted Duck: Popular Roasted Duck restaurant at KSL City Mall
Meng Meng Roasted Duck also known as Di Hwang Ya, is a very popular Roasted Duck restaurant in Johor Bahru. Strongly recommended by my cousin to host our Lunar New Year dinner there, let’s dive in and give it a try.
EXPERIENCE
Located within KSL Shopping Mall on the 2nd floor, the restaurant setup is typical, and you will get to see a huge duck statue hanging by the entrance, representing their signature dish.
As we all know any restaurants operating on Lunar New Year would definitely result in a long waiting time of about 20 to 30 minutes. However, the waitress was kind enough to help us take our orders. Finally, we managed to get a table after 10 minutes and we went on to place orders for drinks. One of my cousin couldn’t wait to order his favourite Hai Di Ye. After about 30 minutes, our food arrived! Guess what did we order? We went for the Assam Steamed Snow Fish, A mixed platter of their Signature Roasted Duck and Honey Pork, Claypot Beancurd and Sambal Kangkong.
My only regret was that I should have visited this restaurant sooner, because all their food was simply mouthwatering and delicious. The Sambal Steamed White Fish is so tender and blends in really well with their Assam Sauce which is sour yet spicy at the same time, but really tasty! The spiciness can be a little challenging for some, so enjoy with caution. The Claypot Beancurd which is topped with Vegetables, Carrots and Mushrooms is really yummy as well. The Sambal Kangkong is mildly spicy but really quite delicious too. As for the Mixed platter, my preference is still for the Honey Pork, but it is pretty average.
