Market 39 at Intercontinental Asiana Saigon
Was scheduled a business dinner later at night and I have decided to grab this chance to visit somewhere new for a buffet dinner. I prefer buffets during business dinner due to the unlimited time we can sit back, relax and discuss over a good dinner spread thus while surfing through the internet for an international buffet, I came across lots of positive reviews about International Asiana Saigon.
My clients and I arrived at 7pm. The restaurant is on the ground floor and a friendly receptionist ushered us to our table. We were given a seat by the window so we have a good view of the busy streets in Saigon.
The setup of the restaurant is very standard that you will expect from a 4 or 5-star hotel though it is slightly smaller than I expected in terms of restaurant space. The rates are also on the high side as it is a high-end place after all.
The restaurant offers a wide variety of dishes from the different towns. Many of the dishes I have sampled are tasty and worth trying. The one dish that needs to be tried and savored is their salt chill grilled prawns. This exquisite seasoning can also be found in some of the chicken wing and frog leg dishes. My preference however still lies with the grilled prawns and the flavors of the dish is really something to be held. Another one of their more notable dishes is the pig organ soup.
We all know that Vietnam is well known for their seafood. However, apart from clams, prawns and oysters, there weren’t crabs and lobsters to my disappointment. I just wonder how a restaurant of such exquisite class doesn’t have crabs as part of their buffet selection. Maybe I shall blame it on a weekday and not calling to check if they serve crab today. Hahaha! Rating: 3 out of 5 stars
