Lucky Saigon Cafe: Most beautiful Vietnamese Restaurant

While going through my Facebook looking for a nice dining place for a date, I came across an advertisement and was amazed by the beautiful setup of this Vietnamese restaurant; Lucky Saigon Café.  However, I couldn’t get through the number to make a reservation hence, I decided to pop-in earlier to get a table.

THE EXPERIENCE

It was a Monday evening, at about 7pm when I arrived.  You would see a big lit up signage, Lucky Saigon Café at the foot of the restaurant.  While walking up the stairs, you will experience a beautiful garden scenery surrounding the restaurant.  At the end of it, will be a manmade low bridge over a Koi Pond with dry ice mist oozing from both sides, which you need to walk across to the restaurant.  Pay attention to this big cage on the right side while walking to the restaurant, lies different kinds of birds such chickens, ducks, birds and a very big turkey.  I can understand why since Christmas is round the corner.  Hahaha.  Jokes aside, they have invested heavily on this restaurant to hold at such an instagrammable place.

Fortunately, at the time of my arrival, there wasn’t any queue, but the restaurant was filled with diners.  A Vietnamese waitress attended to me, and I was allocated a table at the entrance of the restaurant, which has the best view of the garden scenery.

I was given a simple menu and I knew what I would be ordering.  I went for their Pho Ga (Chicken Noodle), Seafood Fried Rice and Beef Steak.  However, we did face a problem.  The waitresses were running around like headless chickens busy attending to customers. To be fair, the restaurant was quite big with an open concept, sheltered and non-airconditioned.  Clearly, there was a lack of staffs and I could see the queue at the restaurant was building up.  After nearly 20 minutes, I decided to walk up to the cashier to place my orders instead of waiting further.

Well, the food arrived within 15 minutes.  The Pho Ga tasted above average.  The chicken strips were tender but the broth could be better.  It was a little blend for me.  The Seafood Fried Rice was acceptable standard.  What I like most will be the Beef Steaks, cooked with pepper, chilli and added fries as the side.  The beef was well seasoned and tender.

THE OUTCOME

The overall experience at Lucky Saigon Café was good apart from the services.  The food was acceptable and the ambience was perfect.  However, it will be more convenient if you have your own transportation there.
