Heun Kee Claypot Chicken Rice

Kuala Lumpur is one of the cities I will love to stay in the near future… Yeah… Why Kuala Lumpur… Let’s leave this to discuss another day.

I am looking around for a place to have lunch and I was hungry for Claypot Chicken Rice. Having tasted some of these back in Singapore, I still feel that Malaysia might have the upper hand on this dish especially after trying the ones in Johore. Let’s see what Kuala Lumpur has for me.

I went to my cousins once again for their recommendations. Although they were staying a little far from the main district of Kuala Lumpur but they have been working in the city area for years, making a long drive home every day.

Well, Heun Kee Claypot Chicken Rice was brought to my attention and it has been a regular place visited by an uncle of mine who has passed away 6 years ago. Surely, this place deserve my attention then.

I was staying at KLCC and the taxi ride took about 15 minutes (take note that the traffic at Kuala Lumpur can be terrible) to reach.

The restaurant setup is rather normal which you can easily expect from any common shophouse restaurant but glad that it comes with air-con. I was there at about 6:30pm on a weekday and there was only me and another table of customer there. I was glad that it wasn’t crowded as mentioned to me by my cousins. I was told to expect a long waiting time.

Let’s go on with my orders. Of course, Claypot Chicken Rice is a must for me and was my purpose in the first place but I further added in their Curry Fish Head.

The lady boss hesitated when taking my order and asked me if I can finish all these food alone. I said, never a problem as I have a big appetite especially when the food is good. She said, she has no doubts that the food is good so hahaha!!! It didn’t take too long for the food to arrive hot with the warm steam blowing at your face.
