HANS IM GLÜCK: One of the Best German Burgers at Orchard Road

HANS IM GLÜCK is a German Restaurant known for its German Burgers., located at Shaw Orchard. Whenever I am around the area, I kept noticing this outdoor concept restaurant next to International Building and the decoration caught my attention. The lightings, green plants, and wooden tree trucks were used as part of the restaurant’s decoratives.

THE EXPERIENCE

It was a Saturday evening, at about 7:30pm and there were already groups, queuing for their tables, and I was told by the waitress that it would be at least a 30 minutes wait. I left my number and took a walk nearby.

However, just as I was about to walk off, the waitress told me that she managed to find me a table. Since I was alone, it was much easier to slot me in. An indoor bar area and it was air-conditioned.

Just like most restaurants, you were to scan the QR Code for the menu and placement of orders.  Since I was here for the burger, I went for the Kase and Speck. You get to choose between 3 types of buns, between sourdough or multigrain bun or naked. I went for the naked.

THE OUTCOME

Similar to other burger restaurants, the presentation was good. Between 2 slices of Naked Buns, the Beef Burger came in stacked with Aged Cheddar Cheese, Bacon, fresh lettuce, red onions, sun-ripened tomatoes, and their signature HANS IM GLÜCK sauce. Unfortunately, the Beef Patty was made standard Medium Well, which was tough for my liking.

Will I come back for German Burgers?  Why not, since It is still a great place to hangout with friends especially for gatherings.  Perhaps, I might give another chance on their long list of other burger types such as Vegan Burgers, Vegetarian Burgers, Juicy Beer Burgers, and if you are a fan of chicken, you can also try their Grilled Chicken Breast Burgers.
