Ganh Hao 2: Fresh Seafood Restaurant by the Bay

Every year, at least twice, I will visit Vung Tau for prayer and of course, their fresh seafood. There is a particular seafood restaurant which I will always visit and that is Ganh Hao.

They have 2 branches by the beach. I frequent the newer branch Ganh Hao 2, since it is nearer to my hotel and also better view of the sea.

Walking up the spiral, you will be greeted by friendly receptionist and they will ask you for indoor or outdoor seats. Of course, indoor is air-conditional but is the outdoor which I will recommend. The outdoor seats are facing the sea and you can experience the strong breeze while having your dinner.

The few dishes I will order will be their steamed Flower Crabs, Hong Kong sauce streamed Fish, stir-friend Morning Glory Vegetables and if I am with bigger groups, Lobster baked with Cheese.

I just love the presentation of their Hong Kong Sauce Steamed Fish which they cover it with a net made out of carrot. This fish dish presents a fresh piece of Garoupa fish, cooked to perfection. It blends well with the sauce, not too sweet and not too salty.

The Steamed Flower Crab meat is tender sweet while the Lobster is good. It was more than 1kg, hence we got the cook to serve 2 ways. 1 in baked cheese while the other fried ginger onion. My preference is baked cheese and is not too bad. Just a tip that you get to pick the lobster you want from their live aquarium.

Hence, Ganh Hao will be my recommendation for seafood when you are at Vung Tau. Never disappoints me.
