Kuala Lumpur Cafes and RestaurantsMalaysia

Dolly Tim Sum

Woke up early morning on my 2nd day in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Was thinking about what was I going to have for lunch so decided to take a walk down the lane to see what is there for me.

I happened to pass by a restaurant which gives me some thinking when I look at it split concept with 2 different interior concepts. They even have an indoor and outdoor dining area. So, is this a Western Restaurant or is this a Chinese Restaurant?

I decided to walk up to the reception to enquire about it. I was right about my observation. There were actually 2 restaurants under 1 roof. 1 which was a Mexican restaurant while the other which I was keen on was a Hong Kong restaurant named Dolly, serving Tim Sum. This I am going to try.

Served by the receptionist, you will walk past the Mexican restaurant into Dolly Tim Sum. You will think that you will be a traditional Chinese style of restaurant setup but I was amazed by the challenge to do a contemporary Chinese concept restaurant with designer’s cushion chairs with classy wooden tables. The most attractive part of the restaurant is its ceiling decoration which they used lanterns and bird cages as lightings for the restaurant.

With the menu in my hand, time to place my order. I am pretty impressed by the varieties they have which are 6 pages of Tim Sum and 1 page on desserts. I went for Ooh Long Tea as my drink and for the Tim Sun, I went for my favorite Roasted BBQ Bun, Siew Mai Dumping, Crystal Prawn Dumping, and Prawn Cheong Fun. Since it is lunch and I have a big appetite, I added their Salted Egg and Shredded Chicken Congee to my order.

1 word to describe my meal at Dolly Tim Sum ‘Awesome’! Freshness, taste, seasoning, and spices, everything is so delicious. Everyone has different tastes but personally, this is one of the best meals I had for awhile as long as Tim Sum is concerned.

So guys, if you want to have some tasty Tim Sum, this will be the place to be.
