Batam View Beach Resort: Most affordable resort you can get at Batam
Having a last-minute business meeting in Batam, I was looking for something affordable and nice to stay at Batam. A friend of mine recommended me Batam View Beach Resort and so I went on with it leaving all arrangements to him.
Having reached the hotel, I am greeted by the friendly hotel receptionist. I waited about 10 minutes to get my room key.
After getting my key, this is where my experience of the resort began. Unlike other hotels, there is a slot for you to insert your key to power up the room but in this case, there isn’t a need to. Well, I spent a silly 2 minutes figuring out how to switch on the power till I must call upon a cleaner to assist me. Just a switch will do. However, the one problem I faced was that the whole floor was sandy especially the desk area (trust me, can be your imagination but can be quite a ‘mystery’ too. Read on to find out later). I got the cleaner to do a final clean up and check of the room before I settle in.
Well overall, the room is of acceptable standard. The toilet is fine and the aircon is cold enough and not noisy, but don’t expect it to look as good as the photos shown at Agoda. It is actually quite used. Nevertheless, it does have a good view of the pool, beach bar/restaurant and partial sea.
I did have a good night sleep but here comes another set of problem. It is noisy in the day as early as 8am!!! You can hear sound from cleaners talking, patrons footsteps and roasters calling. If you are a light sleeper, I will not recommend this resort to you.
Lastly, the hotel free breakfast. I can understand that is a complimentary for your stay but given the stars rating of this resort, I expect better. The fried rice was blend, the roasted chicken was dry and the varieties was low. The only thing which I might enjoy will be my plate of watermelon.
Oh yes, coming back to the sand in my bedroom. After my breakfast, I returned to my room and again, grains of sands all around my desk. I can promise you that I did not step foot onto the beach so where did the sand come from? I leave it to your imagination.
