Liberty Central City Point Central Restaurant: Favourite Seafood Buffet Restaurant
Having visited countless Seafood buffet restaurants in Ho Chi Minh City, Central Restaurant will be a restaurant I will visit at least once or twice in each of my trip.
THE EXPERIENCE
Central Restaurant which is located in a 4-star hotel, not only serves great food, but their services are A graded. Always a happy diner here because it is classy, friendly and simply cosy. Maybe I am such a regular that they even remembered my name.
The restaurant consists of both indoor and outdoor. The indoor is clean, simple and spacious. While the outdoor is cosy with a neat view of the bright and busy streets of Ho Chi Minh City.
Just like any other International Buffets you might have visited, this place is not too expensive. Weekdays at about 499,000++ dong and weekends at 699,000++ dong.
They served a good spread of Vietnamese/Asian Cooked Dishes along with Japanese Sushi, Hotpot with various soup tastes, an extensive salad spread, desserts and fruits. Have I forgotten something? No, I did not, the main item of why I am always here is their seafood spread, fresh for your serving. They have all kinds of standard meat such as pork, chicken, fish, beef etc. Seafood such as clam, prawn, crayfish, mini lobster and live crab. However, the 1 thing that drew my attention to this restaurant is their Singapore Chilli Crab.
When I first visited this restaurant last year, I was told that for the cooking variety of their fresh crab, apart from Salt & Chilli, Steamed, Grilled etc, they do serve in Singapore Chilli Sauce as well. Singapore Chilli Crab has always been my number 1 favourite dish back home so I am just curious how close the standard in Vietnam is.
Firstly, I got the Singapore Chilli Sauce style done on my crab and it was warmly served within 30 minutes. Guess what! It is amazing. Though I can’t say that they perfect the cooking of Singapore Chilli Crab due to the lack of eggs in there but the taste was just about right. Then, I made a step further. I got them to do it on the Mini Lobster. The waitress told me, it only served with crab. I told her if I could speak to the Manager or/and Chef to just make it specially for me. She got the Manager to speak to me and he agreed to specially cook my Mini Lobster with Singapore Chilli Sauce. Wow! It was awesomely delicious and I showed a thumb up to the Manager who was observing my table.
THE OUTCOME
Till today, I have been visiting the restaurant countless times and it never failed me in terms of food and services.
Just an update that they no longer serve Singapore Chilli Sauce but replaced it with Tamarind Sauce. It tastes just as GREAT!
