Sen 60 Ly Thai To: Beautiful Seafood Buffet Restaurant in Hanoi.
It had been a long time since I visited Hanoi and in October. When I was there; the weather was comfortable. It was just right; not too hot and not too cold. I only had 3 days here so I planned out a dinner meeting at a seafood buffet restaurant recommended by my hotel receptionist, Sen 60 Ly Thai To.
We arrived there at about 7pm for their dinner buffet and there was already a crowd queuing at the entrance. Honestly speaking, I was quite impressed with the external design of the restaurant and within it looked pretty much close to a fine dining restaurant with comfortable seating.
Making our way to the buffet spread, there were lots of people queuing for food. Quite a crowd I must say and it was noisy with people talking loudly and children running all over the place. A market place than a restaurant I must say. Oh well, we were here to eat.
The buffet spread was decent with various types of meat, vegetables, soups, desserts and fruits. However, I felt that there was a lack of seafood? I could not remember seeing any crab or mini lobster around. Most dishes come with English labels but not for the desserts. You have to guess what you are eating or you will probably just try every one of the desserts. 1 negative part of this restaurant was that most staffs can’t speak English. If we are going to review this restaurant in Trip Advisor or my Food Blog which eventually lures foreigners to this place, it would be better for the restaurant to employ at least basic English-speaking staffs.
The staffs were attentive, clearing our plates when we were done. They were friendly too, to help me with some servings due to the long queue. Personally, I am not a fan of too crowded places when dining. It is a personal preference of mine.
Generally, is still quite a decent place to try and experience different types of Hanoi dishes due to their varieties. However, nothing really stood out for me in terms of taste; it was pleasant but was mostly average.
I will come back again for a visit since it is not that expensive of place to be and I felt that this is a decent restaurant to show what Hanoi food is about to your newly visited friends.
